On May 23, a geographical garden at Command Day Secondary School Lungi Barracks Asokoro Abuja was officially opened by Mrs. Salamatu F. Yahaya, president of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA).

The wife of Maj-Gen Sani Mohammed, Chief of Standard and Evaluation (Army), Mrs. Fatima Sani Mohammed, is responsible for the Geographical Garden initiative. The project’s initiator and coordinator, Mrs. Sani Muhammed, was thanked by NAOWA President Mrs. Salamatu F. Yahaya for her efforts.

The Geographical Garden is intended to return to Mrs. Muhammed’s workplace and immediate constituency the ideals of ethical learning, practice, and appropriate learning environment, according to her prior remarks. Mrs. Muhammed is also the Chairperson of NAOWA Education Committee. The geographical garden, according to her, would make it easier for geography students and other people to understand, practice, and comprehend the subject.

Mrs. Salamatu F. Yahaya officially opened the Garden with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the presence of distinguished visitors, dignitaries, and NAOWA members. Top NOWA members attended the event and took part in the happy celebration.

Mrs. Salamatu F. Yahaya stressed the significance of protecting and promoting Nigeria’s unique biodiversity throughout her speech. She conveyed her appreciation to everyone who helped make the Garden a reality and emphasized NAOWA’s dedication to environmental preservation.

Additionally, environmental education workshops and events are held at the Geographical Garden. In order to promote a sense of environmental responsibility and stewardship among the younger generation, schools and community organizations will have the chance to take part in led tours, talks, and practical activities.

The inauguration of the Geographical Garden in Abuja is an important victory for NAOWA and its dedication to neighborhood improvement and environmental sustainability. The garden is evidence of the organization’s commitment to making a difference and leaving a long-lasting mark on society.

The student march, cultural show, group photos, and souvenir presentation were the event’s highlights.
