The task of becoming worthy ambassadors of the Army barracks has been given to the 234 undergraduate trainees of the (NAOWA) Youth Development Project. Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya (CFR), the Chief of Army Staff, assigned the graduating youth. Gen Yahaya announced this at the NAOWA Institute of Management and Technology (NIMTA) Abuja’s graduation ceremony for the first group of participants in the intense six-week infotech skills and entrepreneurial training program.

The graduation ceremony took place on November 3, 2022, at the NAOWA Event Centre in Mambilla Barracks in Abuja. Graduates of infotech programs like Introduction to Cyber Security, Python Programming, Web Design, and many others were undergraduate students from various Nigerian colleges.

The (NAOWA) President and other (NAOWA) members were appreciated for the outstanding initiative by the COAS. The welfare of young troops stationed in barracks, according to him, is given top importance in the Nigerian Army’s efforts to increase its human capital.

Earlier, the Mother of the Day, Mrs Hadiza Bello Dambazau, referred to the graduates as “happy conquerors” in her speech and expressed her satisfaction. She thereby motivated everyone to succeed in their academic fields. Mrs Dambazau commended the President of (NAOWA) for her uniqueness and intelligence.

The event’s chief guest, Barrister Mrs Vickie Anwuli Irabor, commended the President NAOWA’s capacity-building initiatives in her message of goodwill and encouraged the graduates to vigorously pursue their IT skills .

According to (NAOWA) President Mrs Salamatu F. Yahaya, the Youth Development Project was created as a component of efforts to involve young people inside the barracks and to advance their knowledge of information and communication technology (ICT) and other entrepreneurial skills that would help them in their pursuits of academic and professional success.

She also thanked all former (NAOWA) presidents and other dignitaries who were present at the ceremony, and she urged the graduates to make use of the gained knowledge to further their academic ambitions and give back to Society.
