President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the immediate removal of Brigadier-General Muhammad Kukah Fadah from his position as the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, or NYSC, in less than six months after taking office.

Gen. Fadah’s dismissal has not yet been given an official explanation by the presidency, but reliable sources in the Presidential Villa told PRNigeria that it is likely related to the fact that Fadah has demonstrated “glaring ineptitude” during the six months that he has been in charge of NYSC operations.
The most senior employee in the organization, who will serve as the DG temporarily, has reportedly been requested to take over from the dismissed NYSC Director General.
As you may remember, Yobe State’s Brigadier General Mohammed Fada was sworn in on Wednesday, May 2022 to serve as the 19th director-general. At a handover ceremony in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, he succeeded General Shuaibu Ibrahim.
