After Nine years Boko Haram abducted 276 students from a girls’ school in Chibok, another student of the School has been freed by the 114 Task-force Battalion in Bita. On April 21, 2023, while conducting operations at Lagara, the military freed Hauwa Maltha, 26, serial number 2 on the list of kidnapped Chibok-School Girls. She is a member of the Kibaku tribe and resides in Jila in Borno State’s Chibok LGA.

In Gulukos, Hauwa married Salman, a cameraman for the late terrorist group’s leader Shekau, while she was still being held captive, according to Zagazola Makama, a Counter-Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region. Later, in Lake Chad, Salman perished. After that, at Gobara, Hauwa Maltha wed once more and gave birth to two kids for Mallam Muhammad. When JAS and ISWAP clashed, Mallam Muhammad, her second husband, was also killed in the terrorist stronghold of Ukuba in the Sambisa forest.

Hauwa, who is roughly 8 months and 2 weeks pregnant after rescued by the 114 Task-Force Battalion troops, has undergone extensive medical testing since being saved. Hauwa and her child, Fatima, will be given to the government of Borno State for future management after receiving proper resuscitation.
