According to Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, the acting director Army Public Relations 1 Division Nigerian Army, these dishonest people are brazenly taking advantage of the upcoming NAOWA milestone by claiming to organize charitable events like a 10 km walk and support the underprivileged in society. They want to take advantage of the public’s sympathy and trust for their own gain, hence their motivations are anything but honorable.
In reaction to these fraudulent actions, the Nigerian Army exhorts the people to exercise caution and vigilance. Citizens are strongly encouraged to ignore any messages, banners, or flyers asking for money for the NAOWA anniversary or associated events because it has been established that these deceitful efforts are the work of these criminal forces.
Lt. Col. Musa Yahaya emphasized that NAOWA had not approved any such fundraising initiatives and that the organization was not affiliated with any 25th-anniversary celebration that required contributions from the public.
